This was a very enjoyable morning as the view was constantly changing. The low clouds were moving over the ridge hiding and then revealing various portions of the ridge while at the same time the light was also shifting.

This was a very enjoyable morning at the Quiraing as the view was in a constant state of flux. The low clouds were moving over the ridge hiding then revealing various portions of the ridge while at the same time the light was also shifting.
Once I capture the image I want, I am usually ready to move to the next location. This morning I was fixated on the changing light and mood and remained here for most of the early morning.
In this image, the clouds moving through had me waiting for the light. The clouds above Beinn Edra and along the distant portion of the ridge are the only parts that the morning light is highlighting. Some diffuse light is brightening Druim an Ruma and Dun Dubh and portions of Cnòc a Mhèrlich.

In this image the light is only on the clouds behind Bioda Buidhe and at the base of Dun Dubh. On the far right of the image is the Staffin-Uig road.

In anticipation of my upcoming holiday on Skye, I decided to take a look back into the archives.
This is a view from the Quiraing toward the Trotternish ridge, visible is Cnòc a Mhèrlich, Cleat,Druim an Ruma, Dun Dubh and Bioda Buidhe barely visible in the cloud cover.
In this image, the shifting light has highlighted its way through the low clouds to a portion of the ridge behind Druim an Ruma. The sunlight has also illuminated the area between Cleat and Druim an Ruma and the face of Dun Dubh.
