This was a very enjoyable morning at the Quiraing as the view was in a constant state of flux. The low clouds were moving over the ridge hiding then revealing various portions of the ridge while at the same time the light was also shifting.

This was a very enjoyable morning at the Quiraing as the view was in a constant state of flux. The low clouds were moving over the ridge hiding then revealing various portions of the ridge while at the same time the light was also shifting.

Once I get the composition and capture how I want it, I am usually ready to move to the next location. This morning I was fixated on the changing light and mood and remained here for most of the early morning.

In this image the light is only on the clouds behind Bioda Buidhe and at the base of Dun Dubh. On the far right of the image is the Staffin-Uig road.

In this image, the shifting light has highlighted its way path through the low clouds before highlighting the base of Druim an Ruma and Dun Dubh with patches of light continuing toward The Uig-Staffin road on the far right. The shifting light has also illuminated ground immediately behind Cnòc a Mhèrlich.

In this image, the sunlight is struggling through the clouds and only diffused light illuminates the base of Cleat and Dun Dubh. The low clouds have begun to shroud Druim an Ruma. In the foreground portions of Cnòc a Mhèrlich are also brightened by the diffused sunlight.

This was the last image of my morning session capturing the shifting light at the Quiraing.

In this image, the shifting light has highlighted some of the low clouds in front of Bioda Buidhe and diffused sunlight illuminates portions Cleat. The shifting bright sunlight is limited to the right foreground and upper edge and portions of the lower contours of Cnòc a Mhèrlich. The Uig-Staffin road is on the far right.
