Under, Under, Under
By Luca Bertozzi
A colossal tortoise has strayed from the herd to roam the depths of the sea. In the abyss, the journey leads only to a monstrous animal in the form of a lantern, as if warning against the excessive search for imaginary truth by many individuals, which often does not lead to anything good.
In this picture, a group of merry carnival participants is dressed in costumes depicting ocean water and some ocean creatures at a depth where a turtle wanders.

Montalcino takes its name from a variety of oak tree that once covered the terrain. The hill upon which Montalcino sits has probably been settled since Etruscan times. Its first mention in historical documents points to early 9th century. The fortress was built in 1361 atop the highest point of the town.
