Patrick Quentin - Suspicious Circumstances
Dell Books D394, 1960
Cover Artist: Robert Maguire
Cover illustration attributed to Maguire (well, actually Robert McGuire) on the Dell back cover, but not his typical style. Tom Miller did a number of covers for Dell around this time. To me, the style is similar to that of Steve Bentley's Calypso Caper - Dell B182
Patrick Quentin, Q. Patrick and Jonathan Stagge were pen names under which Hugh Callingham Wheeler, Richard Wilson Webb, Martha Mott Kelley and Mary Louise White Aswell wrote detective fiction. In some foreign countries their books have been published under the variant Quentin Patrick. Most of the stories were written by Webb and Wheeler in collaboration, or by Wheeler alone. Their most famous creation is the amateur sleuth Peter Duluth.
