For once, the forecast let me down. On the strength of its clouds and rain at The Boneyard at Bombo on the NSW south coast I left home at 4.30am, only to find the weather all gone by the time I got to Bombo pre-dawn. This could have been the last shot of the short shoot, but fortunately I also had the IR 5D2 with me so it was only the last shot with the normal 5D2. Shot with the assistance of a Hoya ND x400 filter, a Lee 1.2 Soft Grad ND filter and a Lee 0.75 Hard Grad ND filter.

Leura Cascades in the Blue Mountains National Park, NSW, on a wet foggy morning, with a nice rain refreshed flow. Perfect canvas for some selective focus using the Tilt function of a Canon TS-E 24mm f3.5L Tilt+Shift lens and a Hoya ND x400 filter.

“We are playing back to you the dream you had during last night’s rest period, and we would like to hear you comment on its meaning. You are under no obligation to speak, of course, but if you choose to remain silent, we will be within the State’s rights to initiate forced mood manipulation procedures. We are confident you understand this, and that the State is intervening in your dreams on your behalf, out of natural concern for your wellbeing and for the harmony of your sector colleagues, Numbers BJ-2040 to BM-3460. It is for the benefit of all that nightmares such as yours are not experienced during rest periods. So, BK-5671, can you explain your dream to us please?”

Early this morning the conditions were right, after several previous trips, to shoot the base of Katoomba Falls from atop the very large boulder right in front of it.
