Taken on 17/03/13 after the Exbury 10K: Exbury Central was built to a design by Edinburgh-based architect Sir James Dunbar-Nesmith which was based on the Scottish station of Aviemore. As an example of attention to detail, the station's ornamental roof supports, incorporating the Rothschilds' five-arrow coat of arms, were specially cast by the Ballantine Boness Iron Company, one of the last ironfounders in Britain.
However, it doesn't look like there will be too many takers for trains on this particular day ...

Taken on 17/03/13 after the Exbury 10K: The railway at Exbury Gardens was built in 2000–2001 at the instigation of Leopold de Rothschild, "who has had a love affair with steam trains since early childhood". Two narrow gauge style 0-6-2 tender/tanks, 'Rosemary' (pictured) and 'Naomi' were built for the line by the Exmoor Steam Railway. The Exmoor Steam Railway at Bratton Fleming was opened by the Stirland family as a tourist attraction in 1990, but closed in 2001 and has since concentrated on building locos for narow guage lines. Indeed when the railway at Exbury proved to be more popular than anticipated, with trains often needing to be double headed. To solve this problem, a much larger 2-6-2 tender loco called 'Marriloo' was built at Exmoor.
