Taken 30/07/12: At various times there have been four incline railways leading down into the river gorge itself, but none remain. The Niagara Falls Incline Railway (originally called the Horseshoe Falls Incline) differs in that is a funicular railway that links the Table Rock Centre and Journey Behind the Falls, on the Niagara Parkway just above the falls, to the higher level Fallsview Tourist Area. The line was built in 1966 for the Niagara Parks Commission by the Swiss company Von Roll. It adopted its current name in the 1980s and covers 170 foot at a slope of 30 degrees and the Niagara Parks Commission claims that with a journey time of 57 seconds this is the world's slowest funicular railway
