Scan of a slide taken 09/02/91: As I lived just around the corner from Addiscombe Station for a number of years, I will delve into the branch's history when I get around to uploading further scans of the line. For now, suffice to say, the station opened on 1st April 1864 as Croydon (Addiscombe Road) and the development of the Croydon Tramlink lead to services services ceasing just over six years after this picture was taken. (However, Adiscombe Station site is just outwith the tram network's route.)
After closure the South Eastern & Chatham Railway Society announced a proposal to preserve the terminus, together with its adjoining car sheds and establish a working transport museum. Unfortunately both Railtrack and Croydon Council failed to offer any support to the scheme and after a five year campaign to acquire the site the battle was lost. In 2000 Bellway Homes bought the station site with outline planning permission for a housing estate with 65 homes; demolition of Addiscombe Station started late in 2001

Scan of a slide taken on 20/10/90 on the former Addiscombe Branch.

This may have been roughly where Dalmally Passage passed under the line.

It is a somewhat grotty slide/scan!
