THE PIER HEAD BUILDING

The Pierhead Building (Welsh: Adeilad y Pierhead) is a Grade 1 listed building of Cardiff Bay, Wales. It stands as one of the city of Cardiff's most familiar landmarks and was built in 1897 as the headquarters for the Bute Dock Company. Pierhead was once the focal point of commerce in Wales. This majestic building has stood proud over 113 years of Cardiff Bay's unique and varied history. As a space to reflect our culture and a key venue for live discussion and debate, the Pierhead will continue to play a central role in shaping Wales.
The clock on the building is unofficially known as the "Baby Big Ben"[1] or the "Big Ben of Wales", and also serves as a Welsh history museum.[2] The Pierhead Building is part of the estate of the National Assembly for Wales, which also includes the Senedd and Ty Hywel.[3]
The Pierhead is a unique visitor, events and conference venue for the people of Wales; a space to express opinions and give voice to issues that matter to you as individuals, communities or organisations . As well as featuring displays and interactive exhibitions, it can host events and conferences .
Around it is a bustling and exciting new age.

Late evening sun , bathing this iconic building , with golden rays of the sertting sun.
Everyone gone home !

THE SENEDD
Senate or Parliament; Welsh pronunciation: also known as the National Assembly building, houses the debating chamber and committee rooms for the National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff. The Senedd building was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 1 March 2006 situated in a prime position on the waterfront in Cardiff Bay.

The Senedd is not just a building for Members, it is your building. It is the main public building of the National Assembly, the centre for democracy and devolution in Wales. It is an open building – into which you can walk, have a cup of coffee in the Oriel on the upper level, and go into the public galleries from the Neuadd on the centre level. – We have also had performers, singers, exhibitions and all sorts of activities going on here .
Built of traditional Welsh materials such as slate and Welsh oak and other materials. It is also sustainable in the way it is heated; for example, the earth exchange system uses heat from the bottom of the old dock, on which the Senedd stands, before it became Cardiff Bay. This is what this building represents. It represents sustainability, – it is the symbol of the new nation that Wales is.

WALES MILLENIUM CENTRE CARDIFF BAY > WALES

Creu Gwir Fel Gwydr O Ffwrnais Awen > In These Stones Horizons Sing

The Millenium Centre's main feature, the bronze coloured dome, which covers the Donald Gordon Theatre, is clad in steel that was treated with copper oxide. It was designed to withstand the weather conditions on the Cardiff Bay waterfront .
The centre has opera, ballet, dance, comedy and musicals.
The words reflect the architecture of the building. Its copper dome reminded like the furnaces from Wales's industrial heritage and also Ceridwen's cauldron, from which the early poet Taliesin received his inspiration ('awen'). Awen suggests both poetic inspiration and the vision by which people and societies form their aspirations. The English words on the building are not just a translation of the Welsh --they have their own message. The slate frontage of the Wales Millennium Centre like the horizons just beyond Penarth Head. The sea has, traditionally, been for Cardiff the means by which the Welsh export their best to the world and the route by which the world comes to Cardiff. The stones inside the theatre literally sing with opera, musicals and orchestral music .
The glass windows are mirror -reflecting the street view.

NORWEGIAN CHURCH
Built in 1868 as a place of worship for the large number of Norwegian sailors and seamen who sailed into Cardiff, the original church was located a mile from its current position.
In 1987, the building was dismantled and then moved, piece by piece, to its new location where it now houses a coffee shop and art gallery
The Church is also noted for being the place where the famous children's author, Roald Dahl, was christened in 1916.
The flags seen in image --Norwegian , Welsh and British .
To the left , of the church is the bronzed roof of The Millenium Centre.
Also the Red brick Pier Head Building.
All seen from the “Daffodil Boat “—with a great commentary , from Captain Ben as we sailed around the Bay. Fresh air and unparalleled views of the Inner Harbour and it's surroundings
