As spring approaches the smallest of the Loons heads north to breed on the arctic tundra. This curious and rather aggressive male came pretty close to check us out just as the arctic sun was at it's lowest on the horizon.

A Juvenile Bald Eagle snatches a fish and sits on a tree pretty close to all the photographers that were hoping for a glimpse of this very cooperative Juvy. Bald Eagl emigration is starting to kick up and should be in full swing come winter.

A Black Necked Stilt photographed last year on a nice summer morning. If I travel a couple of hours south I can reach the northern most range of the Black-Necked Stilt. They are rather large shore birds and with the Avocets are probably one of my favorite shore birds. Waiting for spring and summer to return to photograph these beautiful birds once again.

A Lesser Masked Weaver looks around after making a nest for the ladies to approve. The competition was severe. They will weave up to 20 nests in a season. Who says men are not home makers, Ndutu, Tanzania. #Weaver #Birds #Africa #Nikon #Wildlife #Homemaking

Photograph of a female moose in High key. The final Image was always a high key one in my mind. Interesting to read that High Key was originally designed to negate screens that could not display high contrast.
