"Ludlow Castle", Ludlow, Shropshire, is a Welsh boarder castle most likely built by Robert de Lacy around 1075-85 following the Norman Conquest of England.
In 1501 the newly married couple, Arthur Tudor and Catherine of Aragon, took residence in Ludlow Castle but by March of 1502 Arther and Catherine were both taken ill.. Catherine recovered but Arthur died on 2 April 1502 leaving his title to the thrown to his younger brother Henry.
