One of my favorite places in Urnana is the @the.idea.store, where a variety of donated art supplies, fabric, and a treasure chest of other items are on display and for sale to pique your curiosity and artistic proclivities. I rearranged the pixels in a photo of an arrangement of fabric bolts to add another dimension to their colors and textures.

This mom and her 2 cubs had just finished up eating a big female sockeye that was brimming with eggs and this cub was actually licking the last of the eggs off mom's leg as she was beginning to walk away. Cracked me up.

No crop on this

A lead statue of a piper and a formal urn stand on a stone wall at the edge of a terrace in Powis Castle Garden (Montgomeryshire, Powys, Mid Wales), on an afternoon of mixed sun and cloud in early May.

They perch above the next lower terrace, which includes mixed borders and clipped yews, and a still lower slope planted with young(ish) trees. At the bottom, part of the lawn can be seen, neatly mown towards the left and strewn with bulbs towards the right.

Powis Castle Garden is a National Trust property near the town of Welshpool (Montgomery, Powys, Mid Wales), on the edge of the Severn Valley and not far from the English border. It is noted for its varied terraces on the steep slope down from the castle to the lawn, orchard, and rose garden, which were begun in the late 17th century, in a Baroque style, by country house and landscape architect William Winde -- with plantings updated during the Edwardian period (in the early 20th century, by Violet Herbert, Countess of Powis) as well as more recently.

The castle itself dates back to the medieval period (although the exact dates of the oldest elements are uncertain, perhaps early 13th century), with later additions and restorations. At various stages in its long history, it was home to the princes of the medieval Welsh principality of Powys, the Herbert family, and the Clive family.

Since 1952, Powis Castle and its land have been in the care of the National Trust.
