Some info on the event:

Come back in time!
Imagine yourself in the spring of 1781 the British have been removed from Newport RI, and the region breathes a sigh of relief. The French Army had landed at Newport, R.I. on June 11, 1780. Their encampment there tied down a large British force at New York.

The Bourbonnais sailed from Newport aboard Admiral Destouche’s ships Ardent and Jason in March 1781. But before they sailed a great flurry of activity occurred as the Regiment trained and Drilled for the upcoming action.
Please join us at the Lafayette-Durfee House March 26, 2017, as we welcome the Le Régiment Bourbonnais as they drill in 18th Century French Style. All instructions and commands for the soldiers (Soldat) are spoken in French.

The is a crisp and well-tailored unit prized for their precision and drilling. This is a rare opportunity for the public to see these re-enactors drilling as they prepare for the 2017 Campaign season.
