I have major respect for all you macro guys that capture these little guys in the wild. I had a try at it today. It ain't easy ;)
This guy was really little. Maybe a 1/2 of a centimeter long or so. He was very friendly and kept still long enough for me to take a zillion shots. He or she was definitely up for letting me practice on him. He wasn't shy at all. My guess is that this one was fairly young. I found another a short while later that was larger, more colorful and hairier that was very skittish. I had to gain the older one's trust but eventually, he came out to check out what I was doing.
This isn't cropped at all. This was done using a reversed prime 50 f/1.4 with extension rings on. I also had an LED ring light (not a flash) on there to help me see what the heck I has doing. Can't see much at all when you are trying to look through an aperture of f/22.0 even in bright light.
