Spring has been here for 2 months, yet there are quite a few areas of the park with dead trees. Red Wattlebirds like to perch on those dead branches and blend in very well. You don't know they are there unless they call their mates, or decide to go to other places, like this bird here.

The whole afternoon, he fluffs up himself and flashes his neck colours and makes cuo- roo -cuo - roo - cuo calls, he hasn't had much luck so far. Here he is obviously deflated as he watches another beauty moving further away . . .
