The kangaroo is a marsupial from the family Macropodidae (macropods, meaning "large foot"). In common use the term is used to describe the largest species from this family, especially those of the genus Macropus: the red kangaroo, antilopine kangaroo, eastern grey kangaroo, and western grey kangaroo. Kangaroos are endemic to Australia. The Australian government estimates that 34.3 million kangaroos lived within the commercial harvest areas of Australia in 2011, up from 25.1 million one year earlier. (sourced from Wikipedia)

A wallaby is a small or middle-sized macropod native to Australia and New Guinea, with introduced populations in New Zealand, Hawaii, the United Kingdom and other countries. They belong to the same taxonomic family as kangaroos and sometimes the same genus, but kangaroos are specifically categorised into the four largest species of the family. The term "wallaby" is an informal designation generally used for any macropod that is smaller than a kangaroo or a wallaroo that has not been designated otherwise.

This was taken at Serendip Sanctuary. Serendip Sanctuary is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape in the traditional Country of the Wadawurrung Peoples. It is a 250 ha protected area in Victoria, Australia, near the You Yangs and the town of Lara, about 22 km north of Geelong and 60 km south-west of Melbourne.

On the beach, a group of youth are practising football - more for fun than actual practice. In a frantic attempt to catch the ball in mid-air, the horizon has become a slope ......

The sky is grey
The sea not too blue
The horizon is wonky
The ball is sanquine
Winter sun is weak
How far would this traverse
In the direction
Of eternity???
