There's a stream of insects wandering in the vicinity of some tall gum trees and red wattlebirds come out from the trees every now and then to feed on them. The window of opportunity was short: only a few minutes before thick clouds set in. Typical Melbourne weather.

This bird is feeding on small insects in the air. It is very acrobatic and changes directions at will.
Looking from this angle the birds appears to be falling / being drawn into a vortex...
