There is something about this bird's appearance that really resounds with me. Perhaps it is the striking black markings as well as a bright red bill and yellow and black feet. You also have to be careful to keep the very long, fine tail feathers in the frame

Galapagos Land Iguana ('Conolophus subcristatus'). There are 3 species of land iguanas in the islands with this being the most common. Colouration is variable in this species but normally they have some level of pale to dark yellow.

Adult iguanas feed manily on the pads and fruit of the prickly pear cactus but they will eat other plants and some insects.

This past weekend my good friend Danny and I traveled to Amherst Island and Presqu'ile Provincial Park both in eastern Ontario.

We spent Saturday on Amherst Island looking for raptors, migrating birds and anything else that we could find in between the near white-out snow squalls.

One of the best subjects that I had, photography-wise, was this Red Fox that was hunting for Meadow Voles in a farm field. We only got to spent less then 10 minutes with it but we witnessed a behaviour that I had always wanted to capture.

The Fox did its hunting leap several times and ended up carrying away 3-5 Voles. I presume that it was either going to cache them to eat later or, taking them back to its den for its mate.

This was a very big crop as the Fox was far out into the field.

I was sitting quietly on the shoreline early one morning waiting for a distant Common Loon to approach. I noticed something run by me. It was an American Mink.

It realised that I was sitting there and after a few seconds it ran back to shore. A few minutes later it got up enough nerve to ss me again and headed out to the end of a point of rocks. It dove underwater a couple of times and then came up with this large crayfish.

It ran past me again with its breakfast and I was fortunately enough to catch a couple of photos before it disappeared.
