Sundown happens too soon now. Daylight savings Time ended and hopefully our wet season will start.
The month started with a rainbow. And it just got better.
We got some new birds this month and I want to thank the people who shared their sightings. Some of you are my flickr friends. : )
New birds include the ones in the second row. Scissor-tailed flycatcher (I know!) Purple Finch ( Dave Moody quote “Look between the legs”), Northern Red Bishop (Thank you W9) Long-tailed Duck, Marsh Wren and in the bottom right corner the Grasshopper Sparrow. Not pictured the Pacific Loon ( Another photographer stepped in front of him before I could fire off a shot) and the Glaucous Gull because the sky was overcast, the water grey, and … well he’s a gull.
We worked the hardest for the Long-tailed Duck. We were tested. The cold wind cut through our clothes and we flirted with an ER trip climbing over slippery boulders to get closer. Luckily he hung around and we were able to shoot him in better light and weather on another day. But my favorite photos were taken the first day. More drama.
As always, I am inspired and informed by your photos and adventures. If you haven’t posted anything in a while it’s time to dust off your camera.
