The stream flows through the Moness gorge surrounded by a birchwood known locally as the "Birks of Aberfeldy".The stream continues through the town of Aberfeldy and into Loch Tay.
There is a 3.2km trail which loops around the gorge over a bridge. The Birchwood was mentioned in a poem by Robert Burns in 1787.
