Built in the 14th century on the grounds of a previous mosque. Trujillo has a lot of history dating back to pre-Roman times.

The Roman Bridge over the Guadiana River, built 25 BC, is 792 meters long and has 60 arches. Merida has so many historical and ancient buildings, well worth visiting

Fracisco Pizarro was born in Trujillo in 1471 and lead the Spanish Conquest of the Inca Empire, responsible for the deaths of thousands of Inca's, including the killing of the last Emperor Alahulpa. Robbing the tribes of their gold. Pizarro, was assassinated himself in Peru in 1541
