En verano Peña Ubiña es bastante accesible, sólo hace falta salvar un desnivel cercano a 1200 m desde el pueblo de Torrebarrio.
En el primer plano podemos ver el sendero que baja de Peña Ubiña, y alcanza las praderías del collado del Ronzón, después de dejar atrás el inclinado y serpenteante sendero entre rocas que baja de la cumbre. Enfrente tenemos Ubiña La Pequeñas con 2197 m de altitud.

In summer Peña Ubiña is quite accessible, just need to save a slope close to 1200 m from the village of Torrebarrio.
In the foreground we can see the path down Ubiña Peña, and reaches the pastures of the hill of Ronzón, after leaving behind the steep and winding path through rocks coming down from the summit. Before us Ubiña The Small with 2197 m altitude.

Dejando atrás el Mojón de tres Provincias de 2497 m y camino de Peña Prieta, pasamos por el Pico del Infierno, desde el cual podemos admirar un hermoso circo glaciar cuyas aguas recoge la laguna de Fuentes Carriones a 2220 m, que es el nacimiento del río Carrión. Ese día anduvimos algo perdidos entre la niebla, pero cuando esta se fué, el espectáculo era realmente hermoso. No se puede plasmar en una fotografía...

Esta foto tomada a la Cascada de Sotillos esta primavera, representa la esencia y energía de uno de los elementos vitales de la naturaleza: el agua. Es mi aportación particular en honor a esos hombres y mujeres amantes y defensores de la tierra. Elijo esta música de Sacred Spirit “Yeha-Noha” que significa “deseos de felicidad y prosperidad”, cantada por un anciano de la tribu Navajo llamado Kee Chee Jake.
Los nativos norteamericanos son un ejemplo de interrelación con todos los elementos naturales. Y uno de los documentos más importantes y representativos relacionados con el respeto al medio ambiente es el Discurso del Jefe Indio Seattle dado en enero de 1854. Extracto lo siguiente: “¿Quién puede comprar o vender el cielo o el calor de la tierra?. Esa idea es para nosotros extraña. Ni el frescor del aire, ni el brillo del agua son nuestros… Somos una parte de ella, y la flor perfumada, el ciervo, el caballo, el águila majestuosa, son nuestros hermanos. Las escarpadas montañas, los prados húmedos, el cuerpo sudoroso del potro y el hombre..., todos pertenecen a la misma familia… El agua cristalina, que corre por los arroyos y los ríos no es sólo agua, es también la sangre de nuestros antepasados… De hecho, los ríos son nuestros hermanos. Nos libran de la sed, arrastran nuestras canoas y nos procuran alimento. Cada imagen que reflejan las claras aguas de los lagos son el recuerdo de los hechos que ocurrieron y la memoria de mis gentes. El murmullo del agua es la voz del padre de mi padre…”

This photo taken at the waterfall Sotillos this spring, represents the essence and energy of one of the vital elements of nature: water. It is my particular contribution in honor of those men and women lovers and defenders of the earth. I choose the music of Sacred Spirit "Yeha Noha," which means "wishes of happiness and prosperity," sung by a tribal elder named Kee Chee Jake Navajo.
Native Americans are an example of interaction with all the natural elements. And one of the most important and representative documents related to respect the environment is the Indian Chief Seattle's speech given in January 1854. Extract the following: "Who can buy or sell the sky, the warmth of the earth?. That idea is strange to us. Neither the fresh air or the water sheen is our ... We are a part of it, and fragrant flower, the deer, the horse, the great eagle are our brothers. The rugged mountains, wet meadows, the body sweaty ... pony, and man all belong to the same family ... The clear water running through streams and rivers is not just water, is also the blood of our ancestors ... In fact, the rivers are our brothers. We fought thirst, we dragged our canoes and seek food. Each image that reflects the clear waters of the lakes are the memory of the events that occurred and the memory of my people. Se conoce como Macizo de Fuentes Carrionas a un sistema montañoso, perteneciente a la Cordillera Cantábrica, situado al norte de la Provincia de Palencia, pero integrado también en las de León y Cantabria. Su pico más alto es Peña Prieta, con 2.538 msnm

El Llambrión. La segunda cima más alta de Picos (2642 m). Desnivel positivo acumulado: 1.060 m. Desnivel negativo acumulado: 1.810 m. Tiempos: 10 horas.
Dificultad: El ascenso a la Torre del Llambrión por la chimenea está catalogado como PD. Presenta pasos de II y un corto muro final de III. Puede existir sensación de "aereo" en la cresta final. El descenso por Tiro Callejo ofrece destrepes de II o II+.

The Llambrión. The second highest peak Peak (2642 m). Positive Elevation gain: 1,060 m. Negative Elevation gain: 1,810 m. Times: 10 hours.
Difficulty: The ascent to the tower Llambrión the chimney is listed as PD. Presents steps II and III short end wall. There may be feeling "air" in the final peak. The descent kick Callejo provides destrepes II or II +.
NOTA: Es obvio que las aves no son reales, están puestas para dar un poco de vida a un lugar tan solitario...
