Picture of 1958 Leica M2 + 1954 Leica Summarit 50mm f1.5 lens taken with Leica M9 + Leica Summicron 90mm f2 @f2 and 1/12 handheld
My most beautiful camera setup to date. And best of all I didn't buy them to polish and keep in a glass cabinet, I bought them to use! Both the camera and lens are in fantastic condition considering they are over 50yrs old. I don't thin kmy Nikon D800 will still be in use in 50yrs time!
Leica Summarit 50f1.5 sample images to follow. There is a lot of bad images on the internet using this lens together with terrible reviews. As far as I can see this was unfair and they should have asked someone who can focus a manual lens to do the review! :P

Leica M9 + 1954 Leica Summarit 50mm f1.5. Shot at 1m at f1.5. I processed this image as I do most my images - adjust contrast, sharpen and add border/ watermark. I'd only had the lens in my hands for 5mins and I have already proved that this lens is plenty sharp enough with some PP to be shot wide open. It was easy to nail focus at f1.5 but most reviews say these lenses were optimised at f2.8. Maybe I got lucky. Great lens.
