Leica M9 + Leica Sumaron 35mm f3.5 (1951) (Earlier LTM mount verison that has been modified to have LM mount. Without goggles)
This was my best Leica Street photography photo yesterday. I did a few hours of street photography before the model shoots in central London. I was shooting from the hip only and range focusing (using hyperfocal distance) on the lens. This was at mimimum focal distance of 1m standing in the crowds yesterday. I had many many almost good photos and I will share the best of those on my blog soon. ............now I understand better why there are so many almost focused photos in the Leica groups. Initially when I moved to Leica I couldn't understand why all these photographers with these amazing Leica cameras were posting out of focus images. It is not until you try street photography that you realise how tough it can be to focus a shot, compose and catch the moment in a split second. I found my biggest problem was I was moving too fast! (I walk quickly!) This shot was me standing still. More on my blog to come.. when I get time!
Yesterday I bought the 1956 Leica Summaron 35mm f3.5 to add to my vintage Leica collection. I already have the Voigtlander Skopar PIi 35mm f2.5 but I like the flare of the older lenses. Full lens blog review also to follow..
