An early birthday present for my wife, I booked a three-night-stay for us at this little beauty. The Metolius River flows through this very forest where She learned how to Fly Fish while camping with her family as a child. Everyone has their favorite place where memories were made and, consequently, one feels safe. This is her favorite place.

A bridge with an interesting history of survival. It could have been a total loss back in the late 1950's. County workers had already torched one covered bridge in the vicinity, so, the locals feared their bridge was next. A small group of residents armed themselves and kept watch overnight, refusing to leave until the county promised not to burn their bridge. The county commissioners agreed the next day.

Photographed the evening we arrived in Bandon. This is the entrance to an observation path that surrounds the Bandon Marina. It had rained the entire road trip. A welcome change of weather to help drive out the smoke from a plague of wildfires that had engulfed the state for almost two weeks. It was a relief to breathe clean air. I will never complain about rain, again.

Levi's been my most photogenic cat. 12 years ago my daughter found him alone and crying in a field. His eyes weren't open and his mother, for whatever reason, must have left him behind while moving her kittens. We bottle-fed him until he was able to eat solid foods. He's been a part of the family since. He doesn't know he's a cat, either. =)
