The fig trees which grow over in our neighbours backyard are an instant magnet for all manner of birds. Here, a Little Wattle Bird acts as lookout against the grey skies we had today.

The fig trees which hang over our fenceline from the neighbours yard provide an attractive feeding ground for a number of bird species. Here, a Crescent Honeyeater feasts on an over-ripe fig.

Check It On Black.

I have just been burning some images from my CF cards to DVD's (the first step in my workflow), and came upon this image, which I had forgotten about. I had exposed for the dark feathers, so as to get as much detail in the darker tones, and found that the water had mostly been overexposed. I really like the high-key effect that it has produced, whilst retaining the detail in those dark tones.
Taken on the D700, with the trusty Bigma (my Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3).

These delicate little fellows love the figs on my neighbours trees, and as a photographer, so do I. Gotta give it to the Bigma (the 150-500 mm Sigma), it sure is a crisp lens given good light.

It is amazing the difference between the male and female of most species of spider. Apparently, the girls like to dine out a lot.....on the guys.....literally. This poor fellow is probably a distant memory now. St. Andrew's Cross Spiders.
