Trish and I started our 2012 vacation on Aug 11. We had some awesome sightings on our first day, two black bears and the first mountain goat I've seen in years. Will try to post a few pics every day.
Bear #1 seen along the Icefield Parkway. We had this guy all to ourselves as we were the first ones to see it.

Trish and I are back from 11 days in BC and Vancouver Island. Starting to go through my pics and getting some posted. I'll try not to post too many.
From Aug 11. Our first day out we saw a few good critters. We saw two bears along the Icefield Parkway on the way to Jasper. This one was content to eat his berries and ignore us.

Bear #2 seen along the Icefield Parkway. Although I was pretty close to this bear to get head shots with my 300mm lens, I felt quite safe as there were about 30 entrees a lot closer than I was.

This is the first time in years I've seen a mountain goat on the Icefield Parkway. I think the last time was in the early 90's.
