Trish and I took Flickr friend Anne NE of the city today to look for the snowy owls I spotted yesterday. We had no luck finding the snowys, but not being one to give up, we decided to go south and look for some roughies. We found lots of those as we checked out the Blackie, High River and Turner Valley areas.
Not the greatest shot, but this is my first Common Redpoll, so it gets added to my list.

Trish met me down at Carburn Park after work today to look for the saw-whet owl, but as we hadn't heard much about it lately, we were not surprised we didn't find it.
We did find a few redpolls, so I took some shots of them.
