One of the three humpback whale Trish and I saw on our trip out east. I'm posting this one for ID.
The whale experts have ID'd this one as Foggy(HWC#0628) based on the pattern on the underside of the fluke which apparently is as good as fingerprints when it comes to whale ID.

Trish and I went on our third of four whale watching tours on Aug 26 while out in the maritimes. This was by far the best of the tours.
We got very close to three humpback whales on this tour. They were just kinda lounging about, swimming very slowly and doing a lot of diving giving us some opportunities for some tail shots. These are big animals, around 45 ft.
We took this tour out of Tiverton, NS on a small island called Long Island.
