Trish and I decided to make a two day run down to Medicine Hat on the July 1st long weekend to find some Burrowing Owls. We figured we'd make a drive of it, so we took the long way down, going up toward Drumheller first, then over to the Youngstown area before making our way to the Hat.

Thanks to awesome directions from Flickr friends Crystal and Rob we found Burrowing Owls east of Medicine Hat. Four were seen in the area. These are the first Trish and I have seen in the wild.
