Just wondering what kind of sparrow this is. Shot taken SW of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Looks like it might be a Vesper Sparrow, I'll go with that for now.

Went for a fairly long drive today. Lots of things to see out there, especially, swainson's hawks.
Saw this vesper sparrow east of Calgary.

Went for a fairly long drive SE of Calgary today, June 27.
Vesper sparrow seen north of Lomond. I've been to this location before. There are at least 100 fence posts along this road decorated with cow skulls. Quite an interesting sight.

Had some better light today so I went back to the slough on 84th St NE to get a few more shots of the horned grebe and anything else I might see. Also, Trish was able to come this time and this was her first chance to see a horned grebe chick.
