Gauthier Prontor II Leaf Shutter as used on Meopta Flexaret II (late model), Czech Medium Format (6x6) TLR. Produced from 1947 till 1948.

The Shutter on the Flexaret II is a Prontor II made by the German company Gauthier.

It is a 3 bladed leaf shutter.

Speedrange 1 second till 1/200 second.
Cocking and Release are separate actions.

Also has a B and T setting. The shutter has to be cocked for these to work.

Also sports a Selftimer and a Wire Release socket.

Diaphragma from 4.5 till 22.

This particular Prontor II has a Flash Sync contact which was most probably retrofitted.

Gauthier Prontor II Leaf Shutter as used on a Meopta Flexaret II (late model) , Czech Medium Format (6x6) TLR. Produced from 1947 till 1948.

In contrast with later Gauthier shutters this Prontor II has to be accessed from the front in order to get the baseplate out of the housing.

3 Screws have to be removed (see green arrows).

The Selftimer mechanics are still in place as i was not able to remove that item prior to removing the baseplate.
