NRGNP is the latest park to receive NP status, bumping up from its previous National River designation in 2021. The 1977 bridge over the New River gorge is the signature image of the park. Despite its name, the river is actually one of the oldest rivers in the world. The bridge is the longest steel arch span in the western hemisphere and the third highest bridge in the US. The whole area is an adventure lover's paradise.
