When I first learned about guttation a few months ago I started looking for it. Today while browsing in Patrick's Point State Park I found a dead log that had fungus growing out of the end and also contained guttation!!! I think the clear drops are raindrops and the gold/silver drops are the guttation. I may be wrong about the raindrops.

From weirdandwonderfulwildmushrooms.blogspot.com/2014/08/read-...
"Some fungi are prone to exhibiting a curious phenomenon—they exude beads of moisture, called guttation. In several polypores, such as Fomitopsis pinicola, the liquid produced can look so much like tears that you'd swear the fungus was weeping. Or maybe sweating. Other species produce pigmented drops that can look like milk, or tar, or even blood."

This shelf fungus looks like it has tears, very lovely ones at that!

New term for me is "guttation" which is the process of producing these droplets. Here is a link explaining the process.

On a trip to Sequoia Park today I spotted a tree stump with many shelf fungi that was sporting copious amounts of guttation!
