After coming back from Norway, home of freaking awesome mountains, I did not think I would ever be able to look at the Blue Mountains the same way again, however whilst the blue mountains pale in terms of size when compared to say Dalsnibba (the hill that looks over Geiranger) there is a uniqueness to the Blue mountains which gives them a pretty big draw card. The sheer sandstone cliffs, the gums and the ancient history of the people that walked here before, all something which is not replicated anywhere else in teh world - after visiting just about anywhere in the mountains it leaves me thinking I am very lucky to live so close and be able to enjoy such neat scenery and it should not be under appreciated :)
Some pretty cool light on this evening too, really lit up the clouds which were honking across the valley..

Its a bit wet out there.
Much more manageable conditions this time, less wind and only a torrential downpour every hours or so...
Here's a great pun : Why are oceans so meticulous? They like to be pacific

24mm, f18 ISO 50 @ 4 secs.
With #kasefilters, pacifically the #magneticcpl with the #magneticnd - these are great for this kinda stuff, with the 24-70mm lens hood the front element stays nice and dry and its heaps easy to get those filters on and off.

I was keen to see this spot - but not keen for the walk up to the tower, we did have a crack at it though, just call me packhorse since I piggy-backed tickles just about all the way :)
This perspective is actually from the north side as you drive down towards Portree - I met a local Scottish photographer Christopher McLeod (www.christopherpmcleodphotography.com/) at Neist Lighthouse and he gave me some good tips on shooting this spot, however we did not have time to come back for sunset - i'll leave that on the list for next time :)
Anyway this one will have to do, the light was much nicer here than on the other side where we hiked up to the base of the tower steps.
