Preserved former Sunderland Corporation Transport Marshall bodied Atkinson Alpha, 48 (WBR248), seen here at the North East Bus Preservation Trust's 2018 Durham Rally, held at the city's Howlands Park and Ride site. The last of a batch of three purchased by the Corporation in late 1963/early 1964, these vehicles were infamous for their very high floor level, although they were of rugged construction and proved to be very reliable vehicles.
