New to Edinburgh Corporation in 1961, 101 (YSG101) is a Leyland Leopard fitted with an experimental three-door Alexander body. The idea was for passengers to enter by the rear doors where they paid a seated conductor. Exit was by the front or centre doors. In 1968 the bus was converted to single door and outshopped in Edinburgh's coach livery of black and white for use on the city's airport service. Withdrawn by Edinburgh's successors Lothian Region Transport in 1988, the vehicle was fortunately preserved and rebuilt back to original spec. Here she is seen on display at Bents Park, South Shields, after participating in the 2009 HCVS Tyne Tees Run.
