Nothing like finding a Goodie Bowl loaded with treasures that includes whole peanuts to put a little pep in your step!

Not only have you found treasure, you can now bury said treasure! And, even better, you also get to eat said treasure!! And you get to do this over and over - at least until some nosy buttinsky comes along, and then you scram before he discovers your hiding places!

Must have watched this squirrel bury several peanuts before trying to grab a quick video, not knowing if he'd keep it up. To my surprise he did. I just love how they pat the ground after they've buried something.

Taken through the window so not as clear as I'd like.

With the unusually hot weather we've been having in our area lately this stone birdbath with dripper has been very popular.

These European Starlings were having a blast late one afternoon, and I had to grab my camera and film a short video through the window. While Starlings are not ducks or geese, I think in their hearts they are waterbirds because whenever one starts bathing another joins in, and then another one, and so forth and so on! They are not my favorite birds, but they definitely put on a show at times!

PS: Because this birdbath is so popular it doesn't take long to also get pretty messy - so excuse the mess. It got cleaned up later. I pinkie swear.

Well, as you can see, the little Anole is back again, and enjoying the delicious, wiggly mealworms that were just put out for the birds.

Ever since I noticed it a few weeks ago checking out the mealworm feeder, it has shown up several times. Today I decided to get a video.

Not an action packed clip, and it was a bit breezy, and hanging out the basement window made it difficult to keep my hands steady, so it slips out of focus a few times - but still, not every day you get to see an Anole lizard raiding a birdfeeder, right?

The other day I was taking pictures of our kitty Frodo asleep on his window seat when I happened to look outside and saw this Hungry Horde in our backyard.

This invasion is mostly Cowbirds, one of my least favorite birds, but there were quite a few Red winged Blackbirds, too. Time for a mini movie, right? While panning through I also spotted one brave Mourning Dove, and there were two House Finches at one of the feeders, too.

Sorry it's so unsteady but I was leaning over Frodo trying not to knock him in the head with the camera. He was completely oblivious as to what was going on outside.

Thankfully I haven't seen them since I took this, so perhaps they were just migrating through and decided it was time for a quick snack before moving on?

With unseasonably warm temperatures the past few weeks, the cold snap at the end of the week reminded us it's still winter.

The cold temps also added some pep to the steps of our feathered friends, and the activity at our feeders encouraged me do some birdwatching.

Grabbed this video of the small bird birdfeeder, which holds pepper treated sunflower meats. It hangs next to our holly bush to offer protection and shelter. In the short span of this video you will see American Goldfinches, Purple Finches and Carolina Chickadees. Hope you enjoy.

Note: I must apologize in advance for the unsteady hand, all the background camera sounds, and all the poop and pollen. It is what it is.
