to be allowed to go for a walk during this troubled time. We are fortunate to be allowed to do so. Some countries have had to bring in measures to stop people from even leaving their homes except for essential things. I do feel my walks with Marnie are essential for both of us. I'm so fortunate to have this beautiful place just 3 miles away from home. And what a glorious morning it was ! No social distancing to worry about - we only saw a couple of people a fair distance away, in all the time we were out.
To all those who aren't as fortunate as I am, who perhaps can't take advantage of a walk in the sun, or exercise... or worse, are ill, we're thinking of you now.

Long stamens and tiny flowers so intricate, each one not more than a few millimeters across.
Seen on the way to the pond in our local park. The tree never bears fruit, it's so small, like a big bush.
Anyway, here we are - painted as always with the help of Topaz Studio, PicMonkey and Picasa. I like all these methods of doing my photos as they've all got features not found on the others. A bonus I got Topaz to work on this fast but old laptop. Anyway, I hope you like it. I think Spring might just be coming along !!

Love this Portuguese fado, it's so passionate and Mariza's performance and her group accompaning her are all artists in their own right ..... happy spring.... unlike this song, Saw Mariza with the same group live a few years after this live performance, and she was wonderful !

Once upon a time, this beautiful cut leaf beech tree's graceful lower branches almost touched the ground. To stand inside its canopy was a magical experience. We all loved it, in our local park. Then a small tragedy occurred. Its lower branches were hacked off and now, this is what's left. Yes, it's still beautiful, but not nearly as beautiful as it once was. It is very nice though and I love to see it when Marnie and I pass it - except that I can't help remembering how it was before being so harshly treated.
