Join me on the road between Keswick and Buttermere. This is a painting of the beautiful Cumbrian landscape. It all seems a long time ago now, and far, far away. It's actually only 200 miles and would take about 4.5 hours. I often feel tempted to just jump in the car and head off there again before the winter sets in. Come with me if you like my painting!

Tony and I walked back from the lake we visited at Botany Bay and I shot this view down the forest path. It was magical...

Love this music too - it's one of my favourites ! Hope you like my picture and my choice of music too.

Thanks as always for your support and your friendship. Every favourite and comment is so appreciated. Have a great rest of the week, month, year, your LIFE !!

This is a few hundred yards from the furthest point from the sea in England. Landlocked but plenty of water around :o)

After an evening at the 'Theatre by the Lake' on the banks of Derwentwater, this is what my sister and I witnessed as we walked back 'home' to our apartment in Keswick. It was late, but in late June, the light was still fine. Sheep in the field, the sun setting, the unmistakable outline of Causey Pike - one of my favourite fells in the Northern Lakes. We'd seen "Rails" - a powerful and moving play.

Rails review at Theatre by the Lake, Keswick

You are very close to the stage at this theatre. Brilliant acting - a day or so later we met one of the actors, Toby Vaughan, said hello, complimenting him on his acting. He was really friendly and chatty, standing outside, twiddling with his phone, on a break from rehearsals for another play.

... or Alstroemeria. I loved these so much I bought a bunch from our local flower shop. They were a bargain at only 50p, as they're slightly past their best, tomorrow's Sunday and the shop's closed. I hope you like them as much as I do. They are another example of a South American native taking root in our gardens and thriving. Apparently easy to grow, a herbaceous perennial. A long flowering season from spring to late autumn.

I've been searching my brain for a suitable title, something poetic, but can't think of a thing ! I've got a cold and it's dulled my brain. New heating being installed in my house next week and I'm dreading it !! But I'll try to keep up... failing already, but my spirit is willing !

Thanks as always for every fave and comment - I do really appreciate it.

This photograph was Explored at No. 73 on 29 September 2018 - thank you so much everyone !

It's been pointed out to me that these may in fact be freesias... I'm not going to argue as I'm no expert but they had no scent, which is strange !

Yes, another picture of our day at Crummock Water in the Lake District on a hot, hot day. I love this place and the hot weather so much..... more than you'll ever know !

Actually, perhaps this is just an excuse to put this glorious live performance on a photograph, so you can see and hear Amy at her best.

Amy Winehouse - I love you more than you'll ever know (live)

I hope you like my picture and the music I've chosen to go with it. If I'm a bit slow these days it's because I'm a little unwell and we have work being done on our heating... many apologies. Thanks for being so wonderful everyone !
