As we rounded a curve in the path round the lake, this heron was so close, but knew we were there and kept moving away, naturally ! What's more, I didn't have my camera with me so took this with my phone. Just after this, he went down into the water and hid behind the overhanging branches just beyond him, so I got this just in time.

I hope you like my picture, I did lots of different versions (as usual) but this was the one I ended up with. I do love to 'paint' my pictures, so hope this is pleasing to your eyes !
