Town of Castelsardo, in the north of Sardinia.
Founded in 1102 by the Genoese family Doria and called Castelgenovese. In 1520 was conquered by the Aragonese (Spain) and so its name changed in Castel Aragonese. Finally in 1717 the Savoy rule named it Castelsardo.

Castelsardo is an ancient town in northern Sardinia. It was founded in 1102 by the Genoese family Doria who built also a castle visible in the photo on top of the hill. Downhill one can see the colourful houses of the modern town.
