How can it be, this house still stands
when left so forlorn and clearly unmanned?
Each hole is a wound, so much is neglected.
Can't look at it long because
I am affected.
I feel it loneliness - deep inside,
and the pain from the many tears, undried.
Where once was joy and life and laughter,
is now decay and no ever-afters.
Something inside me thinks I should try to save
this sad old house, with its memories enslaved.
So I'll quickly preserve it in best light and shadow,
for how it looks now...there may be no tomorrow.
