According to my skygazing app the bright object in the evening sky was the planet Jupiter. Highly visible at sunset.

On our neighbour's tv aerial. These birds divide opinion in WA as they aren't native to the Perth area. They were brought over from the east in the 1890s by settlers who saw they were good at controlling the snake and lizard population. Unfortunately that means they have a detrimental effect on the local wildlife, especially when they prey on small birds as well as reptiles.
