Had fun with the dominoes last night, so I thought I'd try something else with them.

Busy day - hadn't planned on playing with bokeh again so soon, but just barely getting this one in under the wire.

This was taken at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.
A sentry is posted twenty four hours a day as an honor guard for the Tomb (which is the white crypt in the background).
This was close to the picture I envisioned capturing.
How I did it:
Set up a tripod, and fired repeatedly as he walked past.
For composition, I liked the shot where he was just to the left of the Tomb, so I made that the base picture. Then I used PSE magnetic lasso and cut and pasted 6 other images of him from the rejected pictures and pasted those onto layers. I reduced the opacity of each layer as it moved away from the base. The two images on either side of the base shot were at about 70% opacity - then 60, 50, etc. I was hoping that would give it a sense of him fading away, but also of timelessness.

went out for a bike ride Saturday morning so I could do some photography. there are lots of little fields around where I live where the wild flowers are in bloom, but they are inconvenient to get to by car. the wild poppies caught my eye as I was riding my bike past. this is in an unmowed field between a bank and a grocery store.
Yay - thanks to commenter below, I just realized this was explored!
