Misty morning Southern Railway train in early morning fog.

This is a very rare shot of this train as the operators are plagued by strikes at the moment as they try to implement operational changes which the drivers and conductors object to.

Suffice to say, the procedures which the operators are trying to introduce and which have caused the strike action, are already in place with over a third of other rail companies.

The disruption to passengers is appalling as the strikes stop all trains running for days on end and then staff implement a ban on overtime which causes yet more delays and cancellations.

I don't think the strikers appreciate or care how damaging their action is to their customers and commuters.

Time to change the law on strike action perhaps? Other countries insist on having at least 50% of journeys maintained. Here the union bring the rail service to a complete halt for days on end, which causes misery to commuters and employers.

Misty harbour mouth.

The early morning mist and fog shrouded the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour and Her Majesty's Naval Base.

The distinctive landmark Spinnaker Tower is on the left side landmass of the city of Portsmouth. The narrow harbour entrance in the centre of the image and the town of Gosport is shown on the right. The shadowy landmass on the horizon is the Isle of Wight, across the dense fog over the Solent waters.

Dense fog and noise - Hmmmmmmmm.
