The roots of a giant Kapok tree that overgrew the roof of a temple columande. A vendor is peeking out from the deep shadow waiting for customers, making a living from selling souvenirs, snacks or guiding a tour.

Back then (in 2010) there were still vendors and small groups of kids roaming the temples and earning an extra dollar. I believe the authorities have by now stopped this altogether, more images of the kids and temples in my album Angkor and the Khmer empire.
