The story caused a sensation. In response, the city added a broad new provision to Section 7-34 of its Municipal Code, "Keeping of bodies", outlawing the keeping of "the whole or any part of the person, body or carcass of a human being or animal or other biological species which is not alive upon any property". However, because of the publicity that had arisen, they made an exception for Bredo, a grandfather clause. Trygve secured the services of Delta Tech, a local Environmental company, to keep the cryonic facility running. Bo Shaffer, CEO of Delta Tech, is known as The Iceman for transporting the dry ice necessary for cryopreservation to the IC Institute from 1995. That year, the local Tuff Shed supplier and a Denver radio station built a new shed to keep him in. In honor of the town's unique resident, Nederland holds an annual celebration, first started in 2002.

Nederland, Co. established in 1885 located near the Continental Divide started as a trading post between Ute Indians and European Settlers during the 1850's. Boom came when silver ore near the rich mines of Caribou were discovered in 1859 then Gold and Tellurium was soon discovered in 1879. Elevation -j 8,228 ft. Population in 2006 - 1,337, but when the Frozen Dead Guy event goes on the town is bust-in at the seems.
On Tuesday, April 6, 2010, Nederland became the first town in Colorado to legalize the sale, purchase, possession, consumption, and transportation, cultivation, manufacturing, dispensing of marijuana and its concentrates and related paraphernalia for persons 21 years of age, and older. Denver was the first city in Colorado to decriminalize marijuana in 2005 with Breckenridge approving decriminalization in 2009.
Frozen Dead Guy Days is an annual celebration held in the town of Nederland, Colorado to loosely celebrate, through a theme of frozen/ice/blue/winter, the 1994 discovery of the cryonic state corpse of Bredo Morstel.
