On our way out to Las Vegas, we decided to stop off at the abandoned Rock-a-Hoola water park and shoot some star trails. It was cold out and I didn't want to spend much time there so this is only 25 minutes worth of 30 second exposures stacked in Photoshop.
While the camera was running I decided to mess with some light painting and the buildings in the background.
I didn't notice till I was editing the photos, but someone tagged "SD" and "Baker" on the posts for the entrance.

I decided to head out to Borrego Springs to shoot some star trails over the metal sculptures in the desert. I decided to shoot the dragon out of the 100+ pieces of art they have throughout the Galleta Meadows.
I used the TriggerTrap app to take 30 or so minute long exposure and stacked them in Photoshop. Light painting is done with a small flashlight.
I'm not too happy with the shot and plan to head back to reshoot it.

I wanted to test a concept I thought of after seeing some one light paint in a half pipe.
A buddy and I decided to head out to a local pool and try it out. I only had a dinky flash light with a blue filter for the light painting. It was also a little hard for him to point it at the camera while trying to skate the pool in the crappy lighting from the flashlight we had laying in the shallow end. Overall, I was happy with the result of the pool shot.
I then panned up a little and started a star trail. I shot 51 30-sec exposures before one of us flashed a light at the camera...
Everything was stitched together using Photoshop CS5.

On a whim, I decided to take my girlfriend to Palomar Mountain for a try at shooting star trails.
Here is my shot from our session during the Perseids meteor shower. I always find the light pollution from the towns below interesting. To my luck, I was able to snag a meteor in my shot. Right around the center of the shot you can see the streak.

Image is made up of 54 1-minute exposures @ F/2.8.
