I decided to shoot some star trails while camping on Palomar Mountain this weekend. I couldn't think of a decent place to shoot that I haven't already, so I used one of the KOM signs for the AMGEN Tour of California as the subject.

Champion Systems team rider Bobbie Traskel tries to cool off in the brutal heat during the KOM climb of Palomar Mountain. This year, the Amgen Tour of California route ascended East Grade and descended South Grade, reverse that of 2009.

While shooting some motorcycles on Palomar Mountain this weekend, I caught a lowside crash of a Suzuki GSXR 750. The rider was lucky and slipped through the gaps in the guard rail. He walked away and ended up riding the bike home.

Shot for a few hours on Palomar Mountain today. I tried some new settings and angles I don't normally use.

I was really happy shooting the bicycles and motorcycles at F/2.8. The separation between the background and subject was great.

Another weekend in the books. Shot motorcycles, cars and bicycles on Palomar Mountain's South Grade road on Saturday (March 2, 2013) and Sunday (March 3, 2013)
I shot from a few newer or slightly less used angles this weekend. I didn't get a chance to shoot from the Call Box because of some oil and dirt in the exit of the turn going downhill.

Got a cool shot of this Honda RC-51 heading down hill. Haven't seen anyone rocking the knee pucks that spark in a while.
